1. KITCHEN CLEANING
Keeping on top of your kitchen mess can be pretty frustrating. It’s the last thing you want to do after a long day. Making jobs easier is the best way to get through these tasks quickly and efficiently.
Leave a mixture of dish soap and water in a water spray bottle by the sink to get your dishes washed quicker and save on product. Keep extra bags in your trash can to save having to root around your cupboards for them every time you empty the bin.
When it comes to cleaning your oven, you can easily do this with a mixture of dish soap, baking soda, white vinegar and lemon with paper towels for scrubbing.
2. REMOVING STAINS
As for stained tablecloths and mats, depending on what caused the stain, there are different removal methods. A lot of the time you can remove stains with things you have in the house.
Red wine stains can be removed using white wine. Coffee can be removed with baking soda. Grease can be removed with soda, and oil can be removed with white chalk.
2. BATHROOM CLEANING
You can easily make your faucets and shower heads shine again with this easy hack. Just leave your shower head to soak in white vinegar overnight. In the morning, you should be able to easily wipe away any grime.
Similarly, you can scrub your faucets and sink with white vinegar too.
3. TIDYING YOUR CLOSET AND DRAWERS
Use empty shoeboxes as drawer separators and organizers. Shoe Hangers are also a great way to stop your shoes piling into a floordrobe. Hang them on the back of a closet door for more storage space.
If you’re looking to save money, empty wine boxes make great shoe storage too! Though less aesthetically pleasing, you can keep them under your bed or tucked away at the bottom of your wardrobe. It’s still tidier than having them lying around!
4. CLEANING FLOORS
Brush hair out of carpets with rubber gloves. This is great for stubborn carpets and even better for pet owners and a cheap alternative to lint rollers. Duct tape also works well for this on sofas and pillows.
For wood floors, Swiffer slippers will dust without you even realizing. And they’ll keep your tootsies warm and cozy.
5. GENERAL APARTMENT CLEANING HACKS
Use duct tape or a lint roller to clean dust off of fabric lamp shades. If you have blinds, mix water and vinegar, and apply the mixture to a cloth. Gently wipe along your blinds to get rid of gathered dust.
For smaller nooks and crannies, keep an old toothbrush handy to do some dainty scrubbing. This is great for computer keyboards, as are cotton balls.
And for the ladies, don’t bother spending money on special cleaners for your makeup brushes. You can clean them just by mixing shampoo or body wash and water. Swirl them around and watch them look brand new and clean again in no time!
